Jason Hamernick nailed this absolute beast on 7/9/2012 on a newly designed proto-type of the original “Big Mama” top water.

Jason has been known to catch some true giants in his day, this is his personal best(so far). This was his second fish he caught that night. The 1st was only a 53.5″ . Also caught on the very same Big Mama in the Black Tiger pattern.

The original Big Mama is the first lure we devoloped in 2004. The Big Mama was a little known walk -the-dog top water bait that was available in local bait shops in the  Twin Cities west metro area.

Over the years we made changes to the Big Mama. Changes included different wood species, different profiles, and different sealers and clear coats.

But nothing seemed to be as good as the soon to be legendary Big Mama top water. So we went back to the original profile copied from our first proto-type from 2004. Then used a sealing process that had been working well in some of our other products. Then we topped it off with a killer clear coat that held up quite well on previous Big Mama’s .

We believe we have re-created a lure that will hold upto all the rigors of muskie fishing and it has lived up to the slogan “Big girls love our wood”
